Trying

I all of a sudden realized I have barely taken any pics of the boys this month. Sometimes I can get a good shot of both, but other times I cannot, ahhhh! Here are my attempts and then Tate had enough as you can see :)

Weekend

Mom and Dad came to visit the weekend after Seth's birthday. It was nice to be with them. Dad put my new kitchen sink in and Mom baked and baked with S.Jessen. They made Pancake Puffers, which were really fun! Below is a pic of where Dad found Tater. He was researching Ann's eating habits. What a goof! Here is another picture I had to include of Tate, who dressed himself. He is so proud with his shirt on backwards and the pants barely over the hump. The boys are getting so independent! It was a nice weekend.

Bar-b-que!

Well, I'm sure some of you have thought we've fallen off the face of the earth, but indeed we are still here :) Over the past few weeks we have encountered ear infections, stomach flus, and tonsilitis. I officially have no paid time off left and Roger seems to be close, but not really! He took a few days off for remodeling the bathroom (which is getting closer!) and then more days due to stomach flu for him and the boys. I had it, too! He ended up taking a week off for no fun at all! Roger's parents have really chipped in. Jim helped/facilitated the construction of the bathroom and after he finally got to go home, had to come back the next day, with Barb, to watch Roger and the boys while I went to work... We really appreciated the help :)
Here are some pics of the beginning of the month when it was so nice out we actually got to have our first kabobs of the season! We had our friends Dan and Amy over and their kiddos Brett and Claire. Amy and I met while in baby preparation classes when we were pregnant with S.Jessen and Brett! We didn't speak then, but have since had about 4 other cuincidences for knowing each other so we decided we had to hang out! The last being that Roger and I bought her husband, Dan's grandparent's house. Too small of a world, really!

Anyway, S.Jessen and Brett are identical busy souls and a month a part in age. We did lots of play dates over the summer and continued it through the fall. We've ventured out a few times this spring and are now ready to be outside again.

Tate likes baby "Square". I think the boys are ready for a little sister, but it will most likely be a brother, whenever that time comes around. No, I'm not pregnant, Give us a few months :)

Happy Birthday, Seth!

Today is our brother Seth's birthday. He would have been 22. This summer he will be gone for 8 years. It's crazy how fast time has gone by and how it seems it was only yesterday that it was Seth's 14th birthday.

I remember when I figured out that you could drive with your older sibling if they were 21. I was 21 when Seth turned 14. I came home on this exact day, 8 years ago, and let him drive me around in my crappy Cavalier we called Betty. We drove by all of his friends' houses and the horn wouldn't work... I think Seth was embarrassed, but he never said a word. He just smiled and gave that proud face that we all look for in our own boys' faces :)

Our family never knows how this day will feel and it sort of creeps up like a gray cloud and at the end of the day we made it through the storm. It's never easy. I think some of us like to stay busy to distract ourselves :)

It is nice to remember Seth on his special day though. Our brother was full of life and a s**t as my brother Adam added today. A rascal and full of love all at the same time. We loved that about him.

Fortunately I did get to see Adam today, but I missed my brother Aron, his family, and my parents. I hope I'm not making anyone sad, I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to Seth and tell him that I miss him. I'm sure that he knows though.
