S.Jessen's Actual Birthday

On the phone with Granny and Pops
On S.Jessen's actual birthday, I didn't have to work and Roger took the day off. We ended up taking him to the doctor for a sinus infection, but other than that it was a nice day. S.Jessen and I went and picked out his birthday treats for his school birthday party. I wonder if he thinks all birthdays get celebrated on 4 different days! He had 4 parties, for his 4th birthday, and they were all wonderful!
The boys played nice all day and I loved being with my happy fanily :) S.Jessen got a bike and was really excited. He rode it on the first try, too. Tater kept climbing on it... It's a good thing he'll have the tricycle this summer. He is in such a hurry to catch up with S.Jessen. It seems like it took forever to get them here, and now they are growing up so quickly!

This is a video of S.Jessen riding his bike in the driveway for the first time!

This is the hat S.Jessen got to wear at preschool. He really liked it!

Celebrating S.Jessen with the Brecht's

On Easter Sunday evening, we headed to the Brecht's for more birthday celebrating. Grandma Barb had a cookie pizza baked for S.Jessen and he then got more presents from Roger's parents, brother, sister, and grandma! This was more of a Transformers/Star Wars party and S.Jessen was so excited to get Optimus Prime from Grandma and Grandpa, ooh yea! He also got the second and third Stars Wars movies from Nicki, Joe, and the kids. AND an R2D2 laptop from Al and Rachel... he made out like a bandit. He wasn't feeling all that well and he still after being pulled all over the country that day, was awesome! 4 seems easier than 3 :) Thumbs up to that!

Tate's Toddler Bed

The same weekend of the Kolosik visit for S.Jessen's birthday, we decided it was time for Tater to go from baby bed to toddler bed. He'd been climbing out of the baby bed anyway so it was time. It made me sad, but happy. I just can't believe how fast they are growning up. S.Jessen turning 4 and Tate going into a big boy bed... yikes!

Tate loves his new bed and has transitioned well. He only gets out when it is actually time to get up. We've been really impressed with him. If only we could get rid of the pacifier now...

Celebrating S.Jessen with the Kolosik's

Happy 4th Birthday S.Jessen!

Since S.Jessen's birthday was the day after Easter, we celebrated the week before with Mom, Dad, and my brother's. Adam, Aron, Ayla, and their boys Isaac and Luke came Friday night. Mom and Dad came Saturday afernoon. We had a nice & relaxing time... Aron and Ayla brought their new Wii and I got sore playing tennis doubles. I really am pathetically out of shape...

Aron and Ayla

Ayla and I took the boys to a Easter egg hunt Saturday morning, but it was so cold and the boys did not get any eggs... they had to give us eggs out of pity. We went with some friends though and it was fun to be with them. Luckily the boys didn't get it anyway and they were way more prepared for finding Easter eggs at Granny and Pops' and Grandma and Grandpa's house the next weekend.

S.Jessen got some way fun gifts this weekend and it was definitely centered around Star Wars, complete with the Darth Vader costume and light sabers Roger found for him on E-Bay. Aron and Ayla got him the death star, which is Darth Vader's ship. All were a hit. S.Jessen is very into super heroes so the Spiderman shoes were among the favorites, too. Spidey is his favorite super hero at this time. Although we could have easily had a Darth Vader/Transmormers/Spiderman birthday because he loves all three equally.
Daddy Roger was so proud to find the Vader gift. S.Jessen was so excited! I was proud that he got a gift all on his own :)

Darth S.Jessen

Granny and Pops got S.Jessen and Tate their first, and only Webkinz. They are really fun, but a lot of work. S.Jessen named his Pug Kenny and Tater has a puppy named Gray who is really soft. You get to have a little house for them online. You have to feed them regularly, can decorate their house, and earn them money by playing in a computer arcade. S.Jessen is really getting good at using the mouse. Mom really loves playing with them on it. She's hooked!

Tater got presents, too. He was psyched about his Lighting McQueen shirt he got.
Granny and Pops got S.Jessen the cutest chef outfit and his own cookbook and measuring spoons.

S.Jessen was so excited about having his birthday. He said all the right things. I was so proud because he was gracious and was wowed by everything! He was yelling, "Sweet!" and "I love it!" All those things you want to hear kids say when they open presents from other people:)
It was a really nice weekend.

S.Jessen Turned 4!

Well, it's been a month since I've posted... I've tried so hard to keep up with my two times a month, but this month has been super hectic with S.Jessen's birthday, Parent Teacher Conferences, and Easter!

Our big boy, S.Jessen turned 4 on Monday the 24th. We had a Darth Vader birthday. I am still worried about his fascination with Darth Vader, but Roger promises he is not interested in the "dark side" of the force. Star Wars is about the life and death of Darth Vader... why wouldn't he like him? :)
I always love to decorate one of their birthday cakes each year and this year S.Jessen had requested a cake with one Darth Vader candle (which we found on E-bay). It was fun to do and he was proud of it. It's never too fancy, but it is from me :)

I always like to share about their development on their birthdays and I'm not sure where to start.

S.Jessen is almost done with his first year of preschool and he is doing so well. Of course he has issues with waiting to be called on, with his hand raised, but it's not like we teach them to raise their hands at home to speak... that would be really weird and I'm a teacher! His development at school is right on, he is really enjoying his show and tell times, and making school friends.

S.Jessen and Tater really play well together. They definitely like to roll around on the floor, but they are always telling each other I love you without my starting it and I love that. I just know they will be best friends and we are raising them to be just that. This past Christmas was so much fun with both of them and I am so eagerly awaiting the summer because they will be able to play independently in the back yard! I will always be right there, but I can leave them to go get snacks or something inside :)

Our hearts are definitely happy to have two boys, but a girl would be nice one day... S.Jessen loves babies and Tate right now does not. We spent last Friday evening at my brother Aron's house, and Tate was not about to share with our little one-year-old cousin Evan. He kept saying, "Stop it Evan!" when he would take toys. It might be soon to introduce a new baby Brecht... maybe in a few months we'll start working toward that plan :)
Now that we finally got a family picture done we are interested in adding to the "fanily"...
