Rog's Story...

Quick funny story about S.Jessen this morning.....I was taking him to pre-school and we always have a great conversation on the way there. Usually about the semi truck in front of us, or the sunshine waking up, etc. Well this morning we had just left Daycare, and he turns to me and asks, "Daddy did you pee the bed last night?" I said, "No, I didn't." He looks at me and says, "Great job Daddy........thumbs up!" It was hilarious! Nice to know that our 3 year old kid is making us feel good for not wetting the bed! Anyway, just thought you'd all get a laugh out of that.

"Cracked' Up

So Tate, S.Jesen, and I are resting on the couch tonight watching a movie and Tate naturally sticks his hand down my boob crack. I don't know why kids do that, but they always do. It's like a warm glove or something. They never look, it's just a safety thing, I think.... Anyway, tonight he looks down as I am trying to remove his hand and says, "Humpie!" Yes, we use the word "humpie" for butt or bottom. It's just too cute! I don't know how many times Roger has used the phrase "baby-butt crack" when my shirts get too low. It had a whole new meaning tonight when Tate thought my boobs were a butt :) That's one for the books!

Two Things

I have two things that I have to put down about today. This morning I got to take S.Jessen to preschool and on our way we had this conversation.
SJ- Mommy, can you hear it?
Me- Hear what honey?
SJ- My heart singing I love you.
Me- Yes, I can. It sounds so wonderful.
SJ- It doesn't hurt your ears?
Me- No, it makes my heart sing.
SJ- I love you very much.
Me- I love you very much (sob, sob!)

I need to remind myself of these sweet moments. We also read the I'll Love You Forever book tonight and he likes to do the I'll Love Forever, I'll like you for always... part. When it got to the page where the son says it to the Mommy, S.Jessen remembered and said the My Mommy you'll be part in the correct place. He is amazing me!

Oh yes. The second part of my day. Tate woke up in the middle of the night singing his ABC's in his sleep. He sat up sang them and laid back down :) He doesn't really know all of the letters, but he does know the tune of the song and he gets a lot of the letters right. He is really cracking us up lately and his words are really coming. We watched Baby Wordsworth tonight and he was repeating words like crazy! He also figured out how to open our pantry to throw diapers away. He is quickly turning into Mommy's good little helper.

Just needed to brag and remember these moments.

S.Jessen Reading in July

We have read this book so much that S.Jessen has every word memorized. He loves it so much and I had to share his early literacy skills of reading the pictures. For some reason our camera is being weird with lighting so this is more of a listening video. Listen for S.Jessen to say he's "having a ridiculous here" when he gets stuck. Too funny!

Tater Reading at the end of July

Here Tater is "reading" his favorite book, What Do You Say to a Bee? I looked back at my notes from when S.Jessen was this age and this was his favorite book at that time, too. I was consistent without even trying :) Not sure why it starts out so dark, but keep watching and it gets better.

Walking in Circles

Here is what the boys have been doing as they wind down at night. They really are becoming the greatest duo. I love how they talk to one another.

Labor Day

Our little family went to hang out at my parents' home-made cabin Labor Day weekend. It was really a nice time (and I am no outdoors woman).

The boys (S.Jessen, Isaac, and Luke~sorry Tater) went on the paddle boats with Granny, and went pretend fishing. I wonder how many necks would have been caught with a hook if we'd let them put hooks on them. They whipped those poles around so hard!! Isaac really did fish, but Luke and S.Jessen did not. Granny got them some cool poles for when they are ready though!

Uncle Adam took the boys four-wheeling and so did Roger. We even went as a "happy fanily". It was nice to be away from the tv and just to have peace, when we were making sure that Tate wasn't falling in the pond :)
